Dawley Bank Horticultural Society Show and Pet Show Held at Dawley Baptist Church Saturday 5th September 2009 Photograph:

10 year old Annabelle Deakin from The Rock receiving the Niall Hodson Memorial Trophy for Junior Top tray presented by Councillor Adrian Williams. Annabelle was also awarded a special shield to treasure as a memento of the occasion, kindly donated by Mr A Morris.

Councillor Williams commented on the exceptional standard of exhibits and how bountiful the garden produce was.Making nostalgic reference to his own childhood growing up in Dawley Bank and the freedom allowed all children at that time to explore woodland and field without restriction.

Councillor Williams concluded by saying, “Events such as these are the gluing together of communities instilling a sense of belonging and sharing within our society, it is inspiring to be a part of such warmth and community spirit.”
